Bio
Meet Rahil Moradi, also known as Rahiilzz, an Iranian designer now creating in Budapest, Hungary. Born in 1995, she launched her creative journey in 2017 while still in Iran. With a background in architecture from her homeland and graphic design studies in Budapest, where she currently lives and works, Rahil brings a unique perspective to her art. “My illustrations capture those unspoken emotions we carry through daily life,” she explains. “Growing up in Iran, witnessing the insecurities women in my community faced, shaped my vision to create a new life for women’s secret wonderland – that imaginary world of fantasy we all deserve.”
Statement
This powerful artwork was inspired by a photograph taken during the early days of the WOMEN LIFE FREEDOM movement, depicting a group of young women dancing together in my Iranian hometown. Like so many others, I’ve experienced the need to escape the morality police and basijis in that very location countless times. Dancing together unveiled at the city center was a teenage dream my friends and I shared – a dream these courageous young women are now making reality at great personal risk. This illustration honors these historic moments and amplifies their extraordinary bravery, aptly named “Her Dance is Rebellion.”
